Mor kuzhambu Recipe by Anuradha Ramaswamy
One of the easiest dish which we can prepare is Mor kuzhambu. Here we explain how to prepare mor kuzhambu in two types. you can choose which is easiest one.
Mor kuzhambu version 1
Ingredients
Butter milk 1 cup
Coconut 5 tablespoon
Green chilli 3 (or as per taste)
Rice flour 1 1/2 spoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 spoon
Mustard seeds 1/4 spoon
Asafoetida less than 1/4 spoon
Curry leaves for garnish
Salt as per taste
Oil 2 spoon
Method
Now grind coconut, green chillies and rice flour together into a fine paste and mix with butter milk. Heat a kadai, pour oil add mustard seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves and keep in low flame. Add turmeric and salt and pour the butter milk mixture and mix well. Check for the salt level at this stage. Now increase the flame anđ not disturb the mix, let it boil for 1 to 2 minutes. Once we get bubbles in between or in corners turn off the stove and serve with plain rice.
Note:
Can add ladies finger or ash gourd(saambal poosani).
If we add ladies finger then fry the same with little oil and then pour the butter milk mixture.
If we are adding ash gourd, then let it get cooked before we add the mixture
Mor kuzhambu Version 2
Ingredients
Toor dhal (thuvaram paruppu) 1 spoon
Bengal gram dhal (kadalaiparuppu) 1/2 spoon
Coriander seeds 1/2 spoon
Cumin seeds 1/2 spoon
Green chillies 3 to 4
Coconut 2 tablespoon grated
Butter milk 1 cup
Salt as per taste
Oil 2 spoon
Mustard seeds 1/4 spoon
Asafoetida little
Curry leaves for garnish
Method
Soak Toor dhal, bengal gram dhal, Coriander seeds and Cumin seeds for 20 minutes and grind it with coconut and green chillies to a fine paste. Now mix this in butter milk mixture and keep aside. Heat a kadai pour oil and add mustard seeds and asafoetida and curry leaves, now add the butter milk mixture and salt (check for the salt level). Mix well and do not disturb, wait for 2 to 3 minutes, once we get bubbles turn off the stove and serve with plain rice
Note:
Can add ladies finger or ash gourd.

Can add turmeric if they want, normally it is not added in this type of mor kuzhambu
