
Aloo paratha
Aloo paratha Recipe by Anuradha Ramaswamy
Aloo Paratha is one of the famous north Indian dish.which can be used for breakfast or dinner. Here is the easy way to prepare aloo paratha.
Method for Paratha
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- Water as required
- 1 teaspoon oil
- Salt
Method for Paratha :-
- Take wheat flour in a mixing bowl. Add salt and oil. Mix well.
- Add water as required and mix it well.
- Mix well slowly and knead to a smooth dough. The dough should be soft and it should not stick in our hands.
- Set the dough aside for 10-15 minutes.
Method for Potato stuff
Now you can start the preparation of potato stuff.
Ingredients
Boiled potatoes 2 big
Onion 1 small
Green chilli 2
Coriander leaves little
Turmeric powder 3 pinches
Salt as per taste
Oil 2 spoon
Method for Potato stuff :-
Pressure cook potatoes for 3 whistles or until soft. Peel the skin and mash it well.
Chop onion, green chillies and coriander leaves.
Pour oil in a kadai, add green chillies and fry for few seconds.
Add onion and fry till translucent, add turmeric and salt mix well.
Now add the mashed potatoes and cook for 2 – 3 minutes.
Add Coriander leaves, cook for 1 minute remove from heat and allow to cool.
Note:
This can be used in stuffing as Aloo paratha
Stuff this and make Aloo paratha and serve with any gravy sabzi or pickle
The stuff which we prepare, if it is excess in qty then we can keep in tight container and use this stuff as sabzi along with phulkha roti, poori or along with rice also.
Preparation of Aloo paratha :-
- Divide the dough into 4-5 equal portions. Divide the potato stuff too.
- Take a dough ball and roll into a small circle. Keep one portion of prepared stuffing and close from all the sides. Seal in the center and press slightly.
- Roll into thick circle of about 6 inches.
- Heat a heavy cast iron tava.
- Place the rolled Aloo paratha in the hot tava and cook very well from both sides. You can Use oil or butter for frying.
- Serve aloo paratha piping hot.
