How to prepare Shahi Paneer? Recipe by Anuradha Ramaswamy
shahi paneer is a delicious creamy gravy made with paneer. the creaminess comes from onions, nuts and curd. this is one of the popular and rich paneer recipe.
shahi means royal and as the name suggest this is a royal paneer dish. literally translated to royal cottage cheese. dry fruits, yogurt, saffron, whole spices and sometimes cream is added to make this dish royal and rich.
Paneer ½ cup chopped triangle or any shapes, thin pieces
Onion 2 big chopped
Tomato 4 big chopped
Butter 2 tablespoon
Shahi paneer masala 1 spoon
Green chilli 3
Fresh cream 2 tablespoon
Salt as per taste
Grind onion, tomato, ginger and green chilli into fine paste. Heat a kadai, add butter and the grinded paste sauté for 2 – 3 minutes. Add salt and shahi paneer masala, sauté till oil omits in corner. Add little water and paneer, mix mildly and cook in low flame till the raw smell goes and once we get the required consistency turn off and allow it to cool and add fresh cream. Serve with pulav, paranta or roti.
