Snow Peas Avarakkai Poricha Kootu

Poricha Kuzhambu is a traditional dish which is very common in every house. It is a very healthy dish as it is a combination of lentils and Snow Peas Avarakkai Poricha Kootu.

Poricha kuzhambhu can be made with any veggies likes chow chow,beans and even with mixed veggies too. I am sharing the recipe of Snow Peas Avarakkai Poricha Kootu |poricha kuzhambhu.

Today let us learn how to prepare poricha kulambu by following the below  easy steps :-


Snow Peas Avarakkai Poricha Kootu


Snow peas                                                    1 cup chopped

Toor dhal (thuvaram paruppu)                ¼ cup

Turmeric                                                        less than ¼ spoon

Coconut                                                         1 tablespoon

Bengal gram dhal                                        2 spoon

Black gram dhal                                           1 spoon

Coriander seeds                                           1 spoon

Red chilli                                                        3

Mustard seeds                                             ½ spoon

Asafoetida                                                    ¼ spoon

Black gram dhal                                          1 spoon

Curry leaves                                                  little

Oil                                                                   2 + 1 spoon

Salt                                                                 as per taste



Cook snow peas and dhal in a cooker and keep aside.

Pour 1 spoon of oil in a kadai and fry Bengal gram dhal, black gram dhal, coriander seeds and red chilli, allow it to cool and grind with coconut.

Heat a kadai and pour 2 spoon of oil add mustard seeds, asafoetida, black gram dhal, curry leaves, salt, turmeric, cooked veg + dhal and grinded paste with little water and boil for 5 minutes in medium flame.  Turn off the stove and serve with rice or roti.



Can use cluster beans instead of snow peas.
